Last night I had this thought about language and how it helps us to connect and at the same time is limiting us. After all not everyone is a poet, a writer or a philosopher. Alan Watts discusses in this talk the wonder of the universe and how hard it is to convey feelings and translate them into language.

This is an Excerpt from the Lecture “Power and Space” by Alan Watts. What is the Self in relation to the Space we are happening in? What does the nature of Space teach us about ourselves. After all space is the basis for all creation. If you are curious, like I am listen to this short clip.

I listen to these Alan Watts lectures all day. This one in particular talks about the nature of psychiatry in relation to religion and how we define sanity and what is crazy. To be or not to be – crazy! He talks about our intolerance for different human consciousness.

“Try to imagine what it would be like to go to sleep and never wake up? Think about that, children think about it, its one of the great wonders of life. What would it be like to go to sleep and never wake up? And if you think long enough about that, something will happen to you. You’ll find out, … Read the rest of this entry »

Everyone familiar with this blog, knows I LOVE Alan Watts. Just recently I caught myself, dissapointed with my meditation practice. I still feel stressed, I still hate on other people and I still want to … Read the rest of this entry »

In this little video excerpt I found on youtube – you can hear a collage of Alan Watts lectures on the subject of Nothing, and death. Camus once said: “The only real philosophical question is wether or not to commit suicide.” Why go on in life? Is the game worth the candle? I believe it is – or why am I posting on this blog? For nothing ? 🙂 ? I know I have been posting a lot of Alan Watts lately – I can’t seem to get enough.

This guy has perfected the “humor is seeing the paradox in life” – LOVE love love love love him: “Two days from now – life will be different from tomorrow” – truth is still funny 🙂

In this excerpt Alan Watts talks about the role of the court fool and how modern society is too insecure to laugh about their own mistakes and ridiculous state of being. Anyways … enjoy!

C.K. Chesterton once said: “the angels can fly because they take themselves lightly – how even more so their creator”. I have to think about this evertime I step into a Dojo or Meditation Center where noone is laughing, nor really smiling. They take this work very serious, cause this is: It’s all or nothing – to be or not to be! Alan Watts, whom I will be quoting frequently has recorded a great little video for Pacifica Radio. I can only recommend checking out Go to the audio archives and search for Alan Watts’ lectures. My personla favorite. Besides the show “something’s happening” they stream a half-hour Alan-Watts-special every sunday morning. Check it out
